Even though it technically expanded on Chapter 1, it felt less oppressive (probably because it was a bit more open, as opposed to being in very narrow hallways where it was less possible to run or escape). The finale could have been a little more, although I did enjoy it, though not by much in subsequent runs.Ĭhapter 2: Felt this chapter had the least of offer. The labyrinth maze might have brought it up to par in terms of chapter 3's need for stealth, but I found it more than unnecessarily tedious, especially since you can simply outrun the Butcher Gang and the only threat is all three ganging up on you in a corner. A bit more linear than the previous chapters, as you can't return to areas once you're progressed but still large enough to give an interesting walkthrough.Ĭhapter 5: I felt certain areas (the boat ride in the ink river, the village fight, and the labyrinth maze) slowed down things considerably rather than made it more engaging. It was much more involved pre-Chapter 4 update, as his spawn rate was dramatically increased, forcing you to use stealth and pre-planning on your routes, and to a degree it still does, especially on playthroughs that require you to not die at all.Ĭhapter 4: Chapter 4 is pretty interesting, with the boss fights included and a healthy amount of lore to the story. The chapter is very vast with a lot of places to explore (on top of the fetch quests you have to do with that intention of course), but what makes it fun is the threat of running into Bendy. If you haven't played it already a hundred times, it really makes you dread turning the corner, and there are a lot of corners to turn.Ĭhapter 3: This is the chapter I usually come back to in subsequent playthroughs, because once you've become tolerant of the atmosphere, there's not much left in the game for you to care about. the very subtle ambience and muffled sounds behind the wooden walls. The sound design is at its best here, with the studio and its very closed-in interior, making you hear random squeaks and distant creaks.
